The Centri-Lube cam STC was designed and patented so that customers can have full use of their engines to/beyond Lycoming’s recommended TBO. This innovation (an outgrowth of similar technology used worldwide in the automotive industry) has proven itself to be highly effective in eliminating premature cam and lifter wear since 2003.
By introducing a continuous flow of oil between the cam lobe and the lifter face, friction and temperatures are dramatically reduced, allowing the camshaft and lifters to perform to TBO. The concept was developed and proven after extensive research, utilizing state-of-the-art thermal imaging equipment and consultations with forensic metallurgists and aerospace heat-treating specialists.
